As your financial system gets larger and more complex, you’re exposed to a wide range of users and will inevitably bump up against performance challenges that come along with the increased scope.
No matter how much effort you put into creating highly efficient and optimized workflows and processes, you’re never going to escape user complaints such as: – “The application isn’t performing as it should…” – “The process is much slower than it used to be…” – “Something is going wrong with the way the application runs…”
Unfortunately, as the developer, you might not always have control over how to fix these problems.
Pulse offers some powerful functionality when it comes to understanding issues in the past.
Are you inundated with requests for various tasks that it’s become challenging to keep your eye on everything?
Arc’s To-Do list functionality brings IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) developers a new and innovative way to organize their tasks. When used regularly, you’ll ensure that you never forget anything you need to do, you keep track of your progress, and you can quickly come back to what you were working on with the Arc To-Do List module.
IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) is always innovating new concepts and features that can help developers and in v11 of the TM1 server, they introduced something called a hierarchy. The idea was that you could add a new level between a dimension and its various elements. One dimension could have multiple hierarchies within it and it serves to greatly improve the performance and flexibility of your application.
Unfortunately, the adoption of hierarchies has been relatively slow in the TM1 community because the related Excel functions just didn’t support this aspect of the software. And with so many users relying on Excel reports, the function just didn’t get the attention and appreciation it deserved.
Slice Brings Hierarchies to Excel!
Our Code Team has been hard at work trying to solve this problem and we’re excited to say that with Slice, all of this is now possible! Slice enables Excel reports to support hierarchies for the first time, making the most of functions like SUBNM, DBR, and so much more.
Arc is a piece of software designed to help IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) developers to increase their productivity without compromising the quality of their work. Since its launch in March 2018, over 500 developers have chosen Arc as their development tool of choice and they continue to benefit from the immense value that it provides.
Let’s look at some of the ways that Arc helps to improve your productivity by finishing tasks faster and more efficiently: – A Single Platform for All Your Development Needs – Access Your TM1 Objects Quicker – Duplicate Code Faster and More Efficiently – Start a New Process from a Template – Code Faster with Shortcuts – Create Time Dimensions – Save Time by Testing Your Security with Impersonation
