Understanding the Value of IBM Planning Analytics / TM1
Learn the value and benefit of TM1 to empower your understanding of how it works and its flexibility to provide analytics capabilities to optimise any part of the organisation’s functions.
End User (Planning Analytics for Excel)
Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE) is an Excel add-in that allows you to display and update values from a TM1 database using cell-based functions. In this course, learn how to use PAfE efficiently to build Excel spreadsheets.
End User (Perspectives)
Perspectives is an Excel add-in that allows you to display and update values from a TM1 database using cell-based functions. In this course, learn how to use Perspectives efficiently to build Excel spreadsheets.
End User (Slice)
Slice is an Excel add-in that allows you to display and update values from a TM1 database using cell-based functions. In this course, learn the fundamentals to begin utilising Slice to build Excel spreadsheets.
End User (Planning Analytics Workspace)
Planning Analytics Workspace is a web-based application that provides data visualisation capabilities and advanced planning functionalities. In this course, you will learn important end-user features covering data interrogation, data manipulation, importing data and building a dashboard from scratch.
Exploration and Quick Report
This course is a deep dive on the Exploration view and Quick Report available in IBM Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE). An Exploration provides the flexibility to quickly change the view to show detailed information from the TM1 Server. The Quick Report can combine data from multiple sources and enhance it using Excel formulas, formats and cell references.
Custom Report / Slice
This course is deep dive into the most customisable reporting type, Custom Report (IBM Planning Analytics for Excel) / Slice (Perspectives and Slice). You will learn to set up your own reports with graphs and how to implement and Action Button. Despite the different terminology, they are the same reporting type.
Dynamic Report / Active Forms
This course is deep dive into the most formative reporting type, Dynamic Report (IBM Planning Analytics for Excel) / Active Forms (Perspectives and Slice). You will learn to manipulate this unique report that gives users the ability to expand and collapse rows. Despite the different terminology, they are the same reporting type.
Universal Report
This course is a deep dive into the hierarchy-aware Universal Report, which can dynamically execute formulas and queries against the TM1 Server. You will learn the various functions and features to manipulate Universal Reports.
MDX Fundamentals
When retrieving a list of members in a dimension or analysing cube data, IBM Planning Analytics utilises the language Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) to query the TM1 Server. There is an advantage in understanding how to read and write MDX for end users, as it will provide extra controls to enhance report building in Excel and dashboards in Workspace.
