TM1 Function – DBRA

Available In

Used to retrieve and write back a value or text to a dimension’s attribute.

DBA(TM1ServerName:Dimension, Element, Attribute)

TM1ServerName = Name of the TM1 Server
Dimension = Name of the Dimension
Element = An element within the dimension from the Cube.
Attribute = The attribute for which you want to retrieve a value. This argument must be a valid attribute of the element above.

In my report I want to see what the currency is for each country in the region dimension.

To find this I will need to look at the attributes on the Region dimension.

This is how each parameter will be defined.

TM1ServerName = AdventureWorks

Dimension = Region

Element = All the Countries in the report as seen in the report example.

Attribute = Currency

In Excel:

DBRA(“AdventureWorks:Region”, B23, “Currency”)

The result shows EUR for the country ‘Finland’.

This formula can now be copied into the other cells of the report to display the currency for the other countries.
